On Saturday, July 18, at 11:00 a.m., the Syracuse Inner City Rotary Club will hold a dedication ceremony for the Al Turner Memorial Bench at Kirk Park, located near the pool entrance in Syracuse. Community members, Rotarians, family, and friends are invited to attend and help celebrate Al Turner's lasting legacy.

Al Turner, a Past President of the Syracuse Inner City Rotary Club, passed away on January 31, 2023, just weeks before the club's 20th Anniversary Gala. During the gala, the club honored his extraordinary commitment to service by establishing the Albert Turner Presidential Award, with fellow Rotarians Cathy Scott and Janelle Kraus receiving the inaugural recognition for their outstanding service.
 
The memorial bench at Kirk Park is another meaningful tribute to Al's life and legacy. Kirk Park held special significance for him because of his deep love for the City of Syracuse and his passion for Little League baseball. The bench serves as a lasting reminder of his dedication to the community, especially its youth.

Al Turner devoted his life to making Syracuse a better place and truly exemplified Rotary's motto, "Service Above Self."The Syracuse Inner City Rotary Club is honored to preserve his legacy, knowing that his spirit of service lives on through the many lives he touched and inspired.
