CNY Rotarians will have an essential opportunity to expand their international impact at the upcoming Global Grant Seminar, scheduled for Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 7-8 p.m., via Zoom.

The event, hosted by CNY Rotary, is a mandatory training for at least one member from each club intending to participate in Global Grants during the 2025–2026 Rotary year. This one-hour session will cover the essentials of applying for and managing Global Grants, including identifying international partners to complying with Rotary International’s grant requirements. For clubs eager to engage in transformative humanitarian work beyond their borders, attending this seminar is not just encouraged—it’s required. Register here.

Rotary Global Grants enable clubs to collaborate on large-scale, sustainable projects that address pressing needs in communities around the world. These grants provide funding for initiatives in areas such as health, water and sanitation, education, peacebuilding, and economic development. Our district has proudly participated in several impactful Global Grant projects. Among them is the “Breath to Life” project, which supplied neonatal ventilators to hospitals in Guatemala. This life-saving equipment is designed to assist newborns suffering from respiratory distress syndrome—a leading cause of infant mortality in developing countries. The project not only delivered equipment but also trained medical staff to ensure effective, ongoing use. Read the full story here.

Another recent initiative saw the Global Grants Committee help bring safe drinking water to underserved communities in India. The project installed a reliable water system in a rural village where access to clean water was previously limited, dramatically improving daily health and hygiene for residents. More details here.

Participation in the seminar is the first step to joining Rotary’s global mission to promote peace, fight disease, and provide clean water and sanitation. Whether your club is considering its first international project or looking to scale existing efforts, this seminar will provide the knowledge, tools, and network to succeed. Rotarians have the power to uplift lives around the globe. But it all starts with showing up. Don’t miss the Global Grant Seminar on May 15—because the world is waiting.
