While final figures are still being tabulated, 656 Rotarians contributed a remarkable $397,293.49 to The Rotary Foundation Annual Fund. In addition, 316 Rotarians donated $89,818.11 to PolioPlus, helping Rotary continue its global effort to eradicate polio. Another 15 Rotarians contributed $59,244.18 in cash to the Endowment Fund, strengthening Rotary's ability to create lasting impact for generations to come.
These contributions will have a significant future impact. Based on current projections, CNY Rotary will receive approximately $94,357 for District Grants and $94,357 in Global Grant District Designated Funds (DDF) three years from now. Combined with approximately $6,000 in Endowment earnings per area, the district is expected to have more than $100,000 available for both District Grants and Global Grants three years from now, a substantial increase from the approximately $62,000 available in each category during 2026-2027.
The Foundation Committee remained active throughout the year supporting clubs and projects across the district:
- The District Grants Subcommittee reviewed final reports from nearly 40 clubs for 2025-2026 projects while also evaluating 29 new applications for 2026-2027 funding.
- The Global Grants Subcommittee spent months reviewing and recommending applications through the end of the Rotary year and has already begun work on the new grant cycle.
- The Peace Subcommittee conducted training opportunities throughout the district and supported the installation of several Peace Poles, with additional projects already in development.
- The district expanded participation in the Paul Harris Society, welcoming 16 new members with district-supported financial assistance.
- Through strong member support and leadership, the PolioPlus Subcommittee helped generate nearly $90,000 for Rotary's polio eradication efforts.
- The Stewardship Committee continued to ensure that Foundation funds were managed responsibly and in accordance with Rotary Foundation requirements.
The committee also hosted two successful Foundation recognition events during the year. In November, Rotarians gathered at Brooks BBQ to celebrate individual and club achievements. During the District Conference, the Foundation Committee sponsored a well-attended Paul Harris Society recognition event.

- Nancy Potter for her leadership of the Peace Subcommittee and peacebuilding initiatives.
- Past CNY President Bob, who helped establish an active Paul Harris Society program and will continue serving as Paul Harris Society Coordinator.
- PDG Randy, whose long-standing leadership of PolioPlus helped generate nearly $90,000 in support of polio eradication.
- Bonnie Levy, Stewardship Chair, for her guidance, oversight, and commitment to responsible Foundation management.
- PDG Dana, PDG Randy, and PDG Jim High, who devoted countless volunteer hours planning Foundation events and recognition programs throughout the year.
- Past CNY President Lizzy Martin, whose communications support helped keep members informed through website updates, announcements, and district communications.
The Foundation Committee will continue its work in the coming year as grant reviews are completed and financial reports are finalized. The committee expects to hold its first full meeting of the new Rotary year in August.
Finding Our Next Foundation Chair
Looking ahead, Foundation Committee Chair Don will complete his term on June 30, 2027. Having served as Foundation Chair in District 7150 before becoming the inaugural CNY Rotary Foundation Chair for 2024-2027, Don has dedicated more than two decades to district Foundation leadership. In accordance with Rotary Foundation guidelines, the district has begun a succession process to identify and prepare the next Foundation Committee Chair. Interested Rotarians will have the opportunity to self-nominate, interview for the position, and serve alongside the current leadership team during the coming year to ensure a smooth transition.
