This July 3 and 4 the Town of Union and sponsors like Endwell Rotary organize the annual Extravaganza at Highland Park. This event is free to the public and could be an opportunity to display critical information on the services you provide or special projects.
The event starts Sunday evening with a free concert by the Binghamton Philharmonic, "Pops in the Park". The next morning at 9 am the "Colors of Independence" run takes off. Members of the National Guard will help lead this race. This event is sponsored by the John Mack Foundation. All net proceeds go to providing AEDs to organizations in the community.
The traditional event begins at noon with music, vendors and family entertainment up to the best fireworks in the region. The Union Volunteer Emergency Squad will be providing free "hands on" CPR training in the recreation center. This event is sponsored by the American Heart Association and Endwell Rotary and can help qualify our community with the "Heart Safe" designation. Training will take place from 1 pm to 6 pm and community materials can be on display in the recreation center. All community members that take the training get $1.00 off any purchase at the Rotary tent.
Please contact me if you would like your health and community service materials on display at the recreation center. You may have a volunteer attend or rely on Endwell Rotary. I can pick up materials this coming Friday. I will return unused materials the following week. I can also display your materials at the Rotary tent in the vendor area.
Special thanks to the Town of Union and the Parks Department for all of the work and coordination it takes to put on this annual event.
Thanks
